Description and Notes
Ministers from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark have collectively called for a Schengen zone visa ban on Russian soldiers and other armed group members who have participated in the war against Ukraine. The call was made ahead of a meeting in Luxembourg to discuss tightening the EU bloc's visa policy as a form of increased sanctions against Russia. The ministers emphasized that it is unacceptable for individuals supporting the war or military aggression to enter the EU. The proposed visa ban targets Russian armed forces personnel involved in the conflict in Ukraine and seeks to limit their travel freedoms within Europe.
