Quotes

The design and construction company Citrus Solutions has signed five cooperation agreements with the Latvian State Radio and Television Centre (LVRTC) for the design, construction, and supervision of automated technological border surveillance infrastructure at the external land border between Latvia and Russia, the company said on February 20.
The infrastructure needed to secure the external land border includes not only fencing and movement infrastructure for border guards but also a technological infrastructure for border surveillance that will provide a response capability appropriate to today's threat types - surveillance equipment, presence detection systems and related infrastructure and other technological solutions.
The new lines will cover almost the entire 283-kilometer border with Russia. Less than 5 kilometers will remain without the fence, which are border lakes, checkpoints, and similar places where other solutions are relevant.
