Quotes

The Latvian Writers’ Union has suspended two members, Vija Laganovska and Sergejs Moreino. The reason is their trip to Russia and their participation in the Congress of Translators in Moscow this autumn.
"The first reaction - we were shocked when we found out, because obviously, nobody sent them there," says Arno Jundze, President of the Writers' Union.
He went to Russia, a country that actually murders its neighbors and threatens everyone else with its nuclear weapons and conducts psyops all over the world. We believe that these two became intangible. We cannot enhance chances for cooperation with Russia in any way.
Therefore, answers are awaited from the State authorities, including the security services, says Arno Jundze.
The writers union is still waiting to hear from the State Security Service on the possible expulsion of the two members.
