Brønnøysund Airport in Norway temporarily closed on September 30, 2025 due to a drone incursion detected near the airfield. No pilot was found and flights resumed next morning.
On September 30, 2025, Brønnøysund Airport in Norway temporarily suspended operations due to an unknown drone incursion detected at 21:50 local time. Norwegian police responded to reports after the airport tower spotted the drone. A search by local authorities failed to locate a pilot, and the operation to find it was called off. Despite this, the last scheduled flight landed as planned and operations resumed the next morning. This incident followed a similar drone incursion on September 28 that caused a flight diversion. Norwegian police were also previously investigating a drone sighting near Equinor's Sleipner gas field in the North Sea.
Confidence: High
Unidentified drone incursion into civilian airport airspace represents hostile or suspicious paramilitary activity with potential safety and security implications, consistent with hybrid warfare tactics involving unconventional aerial threats.
