Investigation reveals that Moscow's Bauman University houses Department 4, a secret faculty directly linked to Russia's military intelligence agency GRU. This 'spy school' trains students in hacking, disinformation, espionage technology, and sabotage techniques, directly contributing to GRU operations. The curriculum includes malware design, DDoS attacks, counter-surveillance, propaganda creation, and exploitation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Lecturers include high-ranking GRU hackers previously indicted for cybercrimes affecting Western countries including the US, Germany, Estonia, Ukraine, and Georgia. Graduates reportedly serve in GRU units responsible for cyberattacks designated as war crimes, such as Unit 74455, known for the 2017 NotPetya attack. Students undergo military-style training, espionage methods, and internships at sanctioned Russian defense and intelligence-related companies. Department 4's training materials and teachings are influenced and approved by GRU. The institution thus functions as a hybrid warfare force multiplier, producing operatives engaging in state-sponsored cyberattacks, influence operations, and sabotage.
