First interview of Colonel Paweł Szota, head of the Polish Intelligence Agency (Agencja Wywiadu), given to Polish media. Szota states that Vladimir Putin is a hostage of his own failure in Ukraine and will likely escalate the war. He assesses the real and direct military threat to Poland mainly comes from Russia, which views Poland and Eastern NATO flank countries as obstacles to imperial goals. Russia can continue the war in Ukraine for several more years, willing to sacrifice its society's welfare and economy to claim victory. The Polish Intelligence Agency monitors possible Russian provocations involving 'little green men' operatives and notes Moscow systematically moves red lines testing NATO, which mostly responds politically, encouraging further escalation. Szota also warns about Belarus's increasing subordination to Russia, including hosting facilities possibly for nuclear weapon delivery like Oresznik and nuclear exercises.
