Unmanned drone detected offshore Constanța, Romania; recovered without explosives; investigations ongoing.
On 16 August 2026, an unmanned craft was spotted approximately 1.5 km offshore from Constanța near Port Tomis, Romania. The Romanian Coast Guard was deployed to the area. A second object was found on the beach at Eforie Nord. Romanian Navy EOD divers recovered the drone from near Modern Beach in Constanța. The drone was found without an explosive payload and was handed over to the Coast Guard for further investigation.
Confidence: Medium
Presence of an unmanned drone offshore near a key port with a Coast Guard and Navy EOD response indicates a hostile reconnaissance or surveillance activity consistent with hybrid warfare tactics in maritime domains.
