In Setomaa forests near the Estonian eastern border, construction of the Baltic defense zone includes 28 bunkers and over 10 kilometers of anti-tank ditches with over 20,000 dragon's teeth (anti-tank obstacles). The construction features modern materials like geotextiles and metal reinforcement for drone defense. Two logistical support points have been established in Northeastern and Southeastern Estonia. Colonel Lieutenant Ainar Afanasjev of the Estonian Defence Forces noted ditches are primarily for delaying enemy tanks, supported by explosive devices and other defenses. Peeter Tali, a member of the Estonian Parliament Defence Committee, expressed doubts about the effectiveness of anti-tank ditches without infantry mines, noting Estonia lacks infantry mines despite leaving the Ottawa Convention.

Separately, Ukraine launched a missile strike using Flamingo FP-5 long-range rockets on a large Russian military-industrial site, Titan-Barrikadõ, in Volgograd on June 27, 2026, causing confirmed hits and fire. This facility manufactures equipment for strategic missile systems Jars, Topol-M, Iskander-M, and artillery systems. The governor reported 10 injured and rapid firefighting measures. The attack is part of Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to degrade Russian military production.

Additional reporting covers a large prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine involving 160 Ukrainian prisoners, Ukrainian claims of Russian battlefield losses totaling about 1,350 personnel in 24 hours, and other related military events including Ukrainian losses and attacks in Russian territory. The events are sourced from ERR (Estonian Public Broadcasting) and The Kyiv Independent.
