Two men linked to banned Russian state media RT-Deutschland attempted unauthorized filming at Berlin Story Bunker on Russia-Ukraine war anniversary, were removed for propaganda activity.
On February 24, 2024, the Ukraine Museum opened at the Berlinstory-Bunker in Berlin coinciding with the 4th anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. At approximately 12:14 UTC, two men confronted Danish visitors leaving the museum with a microphone and camera. They falsely claimed to represent 'Berlin Journal' and YouTube, but their evasive answers and reaction to mention of RT-Deutschland—an EU-banned Russian propaganda channel—revealed their true affiliation. The museum host expelled them for illegal filming and trespassing and informed Berlin police. The Danish couple expressed strong support for Ukraine and was shocked by the incident. The suspected Russian agents reportedly fled towards Dessauer Straße, avoiding contact with genuine journalists. This incident demonstrates clandestine Russian propaganda efforts in Germany aimed at undermining Ukrainian solidarity on a significant anniversary.
Confidence: High
Direct engagement by operatives of a banned Russian propaganda outlet, attempting unauthorized filming of visitors to a Ukrainian war museum, constitutes hostile political subversion and disinformation aimed at undermining public support for Ukraine in Germany.
