On September 15, 2026, an unidentified drone (UAV) entered the airspace near the US missile defense base in Redzikowo, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The military immediately called emergency services (112) but did not attempt to shoot down or disable the drone. Poland's Ministry of Defense confirmed the drone flew near the US military facility but stated it was a purely civilian drone posing no threat. The drone did not fly over the base itself but entered a no-fly zone for UAVs approximately 1 kilometer from the base. The Ministry of Defense identified the drone’s control location. Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz expects a full incident report and pledged to take necessary measures if violations occurred. The incident occurred amid heightened regional tensions, with Poland and Latvia scrambling fighter jets on September 21 due to air attack threats and Poland installing sirens near the Ukraine border due to Russian attacks.
