German Federal Prosecutor Charges Three Men as Suspected Russian Spies for Espionage and Sabotage Plans

In April 2024, German authorities arrested and subsequently charged three men suspected of espionage and sabotage on behalf of Russia. The primary suspect, Dieter S., allegedly plotted explosive and arson attacks on industrial and military infrastructure in Germany, coordinated with a Russian intelligence officer. Targets included U.S. military sites and important logistics hubs in Bavaria. Two accomplices supported these efforts starting March 2024.
