Lithuanian court hears terrorism case over arson plot targeting Ukraine-bound military equipment

A Šiauliai court in Lithuania is hearing a terrorism case against six foreign suspects accused of two arson attempts in September 2024 on military equipment meant for Ukraine, produced by TVC Solutions. The plot involved incendiary materials and targeted equipment worth up to €1.5 million. The first attempt was interrupted and suspects detained in Riga during a Lithuanian-Latvian operation. The second attempt, involving a Russian and Belarusian, did not cause damage. Additional suspects include a Cuban arrested on-site and a Colombian extradited from Spain for handling finances. Investigators attribute the operation to Russia's GRU. The proceedings are closed to protect secrets, and the case is part of a broader pattern of Russian-directed sabotage in the Baltics following Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
