Finnish defence firm Patria seeks Lithuanian participation in its armoured vehicle production programme, contingent on Lithuania placing orders.
Finnish defence and aviation technology group Patria aims to include Lithuania in its armoured vehicle production programme. Several Lithuanian companies have been identified as potential suppliers and partners. Patria's president Panu Routila stated that while some companies could join the supply chain without an order, broader cooperation depends on Lithuania placing an order. Currently, seven countries participate in Patria's programme by placing orders. Lithuania's president hinted at acquiring armoured SUVs from Patria. Patria recently signed contracts with Germany worth over €2bn for up to 876 Patria 6x6 vehicles and has received orders for nearly 2,000 armoured vehicles in total, delivering more than 250 so far.
Confidence: High
The event relates to defence procurement and industrial cooperation aimed at strengthening Lithuania's armoured vehicle capabilities within a multinational production programme, reflecting defense preparation rather than hostile aggressive actions.
