A drone crashed near Luncavița, Tulcea County, Romania on August 14, 2026. The wreckage was identified near Greci in Măcin Mountains and neutralized by Romanian military. A Ro-Alert was issued for Galați and Tulcea residents.
On August 14, 2026, a drone crashed near Luncavița locality in Tulcea County, Romania, approximately 5 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The drone was not detected by Romanian Ministry of National Defense (MApN) radar systems, flying at very low altitude. The crash zone is forested near Greci locality in the Măcin Mountains. The area was secured by the Border Police. An explosive ordnance disposal team from the Ministry of National Defense detonated the drone wreckage in a controlled explosion at 20:13 UTC. The operation involved Romanian military firefighters, Border Police, and forestry personnel.
