A large luxury yacht owned by a Russian-sanctioned billionaire with Kremlin ties is touring Danish waters, raising espionage and sabotage concerns.

The luxury yacht O3, owned by sanctioned Russian-connected billionaire Leonard Blavatnik, has been sailing through Danish waters since June 18, 2026, visiting ports in Copenhagen, Faaborg, and Aarhus. The 109-meter yacht is equipped with a helipad, extensive communication equipment, and luxury accommodations. Military analyst Anders Puck Nielsen highlighted potential uses for such a vessel in espionage or sabotage given its advanced communications suite and its owner's Russian ties. Danish Defence Command monitors such movements routinely but did not comment on this specific ship. The yacht's route has shown no suspicious stops near sensitive Danish infrastructure or shadow fleets. Blavatnik, one of the world’s richest individuals, sanctioned by Ukraine in 2023 due to his connections with Putin's circle, has not confirmed his presence on the vessel.
