Explosive drone found and detonated on Romanian Black Sea coast; drone resembles Russian Gerbera; ongoing Romanian military drone shootdowns.
On the morning of August 26, 2026, a drone carrying explosives was found on the Romanian Black Sea coast near a seaside resort. The area was evacuated and the Romanian military subsequently detonated the drone. The drone closely resembles a Russian Gerbera model. Romanian forces are actively shooting down drones they can safely target.
Confidence: Medium
The discovery of an explosive drone on Romanian territory that resembles a Russian design, combined with Romanian military countermeasures, indicates hostile hybrid warfare activity consistent with unmanned aerial threats in maritime zones.
