Two Russian fighter jets approached the Petrobaltic oil platform in the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea at low altitude, violating the platform's security zone but not the national border.
According to the Polish border guard, two Russian fighter jets approached the Petrobaltic drilling platform in the Baltic Sea at an altitude of 150 meters. The incident violated the security zone above the platform but did not breach the Polish national border. The Polish armed forces and other services were notified. The oil platform belongs to Orlen Petrobaltic and is located around 70 km north of Jastarnia in the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea. Previously, Estonia reported a violation of its airspace by Russian MiG-31 jets near the island of Vaindloo, intercepted by NATO Italian Air Force jets.
Confidence: Medium
The incident involves deliberate low-altitude approach and violation of a security zone above a critical energy infrastructure asset by Russian military aircraft, indicating hostile military pressure without crossing national borders.
