On December 16, 2025, approximately two dozen unidentified large military-style drones flew in formation over Faßberg Air Base in Northern Germany, a site home to the primary technical-logistical training centre for helicopters used by the German Air Force and Army. Earlier, on the preceding Friday night, a swarm of roughly two dozen drones, believed to be the same group, circled for several hours above the Celler-Immelmann Barracks. Bundeswehr officials stated no drones were intercepted or neutralized during these incidents as they did not represent an immediate threat nor was there any sensitive information to be collected.
