A fire broke out in a munitions warehouse near the village of Zarewa Liwada in northern central Bulgaria at a site belonging to the defense company EMCO. The fire spread rapidly across the facility but caused no injuries. This is the second incident in a few weeks at Bulgarian munitions facilities operated by EMCO, with a previous explosion reported in August 2026 in Belitsa. The Bulgarian public prosecutor suspects the incidents to be sabotage by Russian agents.
