Latvian company LV-Teh delivered ground drones to the National Armed Forces (NBS) for testing and integration into military units, as part of a contract with the Ministry of Defense involving three local producers of unmanned ground vehicles.
The Latvian National Armed Forces (NBS) received the second batch of unmanned ground drones from the domestic producer LV-Teh for testing and integration into battlefield units. This delivery is part of a contract with the Ministry of Defense involving three Latvian manufacturers (NATRIX, LV-Teh, Brasa Defence Systems) supplying different classes of ground drones. The drones will be tested for combat performance and logistical capabilities, with integration into various combat units and feedback provided for improvements. The LV-Teh 'GEKON' drone is a medium-class unmanned vehicle weighing up to 500 kg, capable of carrying loads or performing combat tasks at distances between 100 and 140 km. It features high-capacity batteries, an internal combustion electric generator, armor plating of 10 mm thickness, and can be armed with 40 mm grenade launchers or 12.7 mm heavy machine guns. The drone is designed for repeated missions and integration with piloted armored units, with development projects underway for sniper platform versions and heavier robots used in demining tasks in Ukraine. LV-Teh drones are among the least expensive in their class, with potential price reductions for larger orders. The company is also engaging in cooperation with NATO members, including Finland's Patria, for drone integration with manned armored vehicles.
Confidence: High
The event describes delivery and testing of domestic unmanned ground drones for defensive integration within Latvian armed forces, with no indication of offensive or hostile action. It is related to defense capability enhancement.
