Russian radio frequency interference disrupted European satellite broadcasts, including replacing Disney's BabyTV channel with Russian war videos from March to May 2024.

From mid-March to at least the end of May 2024, European satellite broadcasts operated by French company Eutelsat SA experienced deliberate radio frequency interference originating from large earth stations in Russia. The interference notably replaced the programming on Walt Disney Co.'s BabyTV children's channel with violent Russian war videos on two occasions—March 28 and April 17—which led Dutch cable operator Ziggo to remove BabyTV temporarily until early May. Similar interference affecting satellites from Sweden, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg was reported, with uplink transmissions traced to Moscow, Kaliningrad, and Crimea. France's Agence Nationale des Frequences officially complained to Russian counterparts and the Radio Regulations Board, an international telecommunications watchdog in Geneva, which is to discuss these issues from June 24-28. These disruptions are part of broader Russian attempts to interfere with European communications amid the invasion of Ukraine, including previous GPS jamming accusations by Estonia and Finland.
