Defense companies in Lithuania and Czechia were targeted with funeral wreath provocations, suspected to be Russian intelligence operations aimed at intimidation.
Funeral wreaths bearing photos of company executives appeared almost simultaneously outside the offices of defense companies in Lithuania and the Czech Republic, suspected as provocations by Russian intelligence services. The Lithuanian company RSI Europe, which manufactures unmanned systems, and the Czech defense company CSG, which produces ammunition and military equipment, were targeted. Police detained a suspect, reportedly a Ukrainian citizen hired by a Belarusian citizen. Lithuanian officials link the incidents to increased Russian attempts to intimidate EU defense firms supporting Ukraine. Authorities warn such provocations may increase, part of broader sabotage and information campaigns attributed to Russia in Europe.
Confidence: High
The incident involves coordinated psychological and informational provocations targeting defense companies involved in supporting Ukraine’s defense, attributed to Russian intelligence, fitting hybrid warfare hostile activity.
