On 24 June 2026 at 20:23 UTC, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy disclosed that retransmitters in Belarus used by Russia to coordinate drone attacks on Ukraine have stopped functioning since 22 June 2026. According to military and intelligence sources, four such retransmitters were stationed in Belarus' Gomel and Brest regions, used to target Zhytomyr, Lviv, Volyn regions, Ukrainian energy infrastructure, and railways. Zelenskiy stated that Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has one week to dismantle or deactivate these devices, emphasizing the ongoing civilian casualties caused by such equipment. He warned that if Belarus fails to comply, Ukraine will undertake necessary measures to neutralize the threat. Lukashenko has not publicly commented on retransmitters but rejected Belarus' involvement in the war. The statement reflects ongoing tensions involving Belarus' role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and highlights hybrid warfare tactics employing Belarusian territory for hostile operations against Ukraine.
