Additional explosive drone with explosives found linked to failed early August 2026 attack on Ukrainian transport plane at Leipzig Airport.
A failed attack was attempted on a Ukrainian transport aircraft at Leipzig Airport in early August 2026. Investigations by SZ, NDR, and WDR discovered another drone and explosives, indicating that more explosive drones were intended to be used than previously known. The attempted attack targeted a Ukrainian plane, reflecting hostile hybrid warfare tactics.
Confidence: High
The use of explosive drones in an attempted attack on a Ukrainian transport aircraft on German soil clearly constitutes hostile hybrid warfare activity involving unconventional paramilitary tactics.
