Denmark has deployed over 800 soldiers and hundreds of military vehicles to Camp Valdemar in Latvia as part of NATO's collective defense of the Baltic region. The deployment includes the escort of military materiel by Danish and Swedish naval vessels and maritime patrol aircraft, with airlift and escort provided by multinational assets. The Danish combat battalion formed part of the Canadian-led brigade in Latvia and will conduct joint exercises to strengthen military readiness and deterrence. This is the fifth Danish deployment to Latvia since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, signalling Denmark's continued commitment to supporting Baltic security against potential aggression.
