PPA found heavy machine gun firing positions on a Russian Gazprom gas tanker sailing near Estonia, likely aimed against Baltic special forces.

Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) discovered heavy machine gun firing positions set up on board the Russian Gazprom gas tanker Marshal Vassilevski. The tanker regularly sails along the Estonian coast. Surveillance photos in possession of Eesti Ekspress show these positions. Men listed as passengers on the ship showed military ID cards as proof of identity. The ship was observed moving north from Hiiumaa coast near Kõpu Peninsula on May 11, 2026, about 13 nautical miles offshore. The tanker was en route to the Bolshoi Bori port in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland to take on a new gas loading and would shortly begin its return journey to Kaliningrad.
