Latvian artist Sabīne Vernere launched her solo exhibition 'Femme Forte' at Tartu's Kogo Gallery on February 12, 2026, running until April 11. Known for working with black pigments, Vernere shifts to vivid colors inspired by the sun in this new work. The exhibition imagines empowering examples of women's self-realization that have rarely been visible in recent Baltic history. It highlights women who led successful creative and professional lives despite societal constraints, often at personal cost. The artworks show female figures full of energy in motion, portraying free women carving out lives of creativity and beauty. The exhibition is curated by Estonian curator Maria Helen Känd.
