On May 15, 2024, a Twitter thread by Artis Schlossberg uncovered that Latvian businessman Ivars Priede worked at the Russian real estate management company 'Wondermax' starting in 2016. 'Wondermax' and its affiliated entities were implicated in the Panama Papers leak and involved in evading sanctions against Russia. The report links company operations to laundering and sanctions busting mechanisms, with prior OCCRP investigations and additional data sources corroborating these findings. The company address also hosts the 'Portofino' restaurant, adding a puzzle piece to the network. Latvian investigative efforts highlight the connection as part of covert Russian financial influence operations in Latvia.
