Polish company APS developed a cost-effective autonomous interceptor drone within its SKYctrl system to neutralize hostile UAVs by collision, deployed in Ukraine to counter Russian drones and protect critical infrastructure.
Advanced Protection Systems (APS), a Polish counter-drone technology company, has developed an autonomous interceptor drone designed to neutralize UAVs through direct collision without explosives. The drone is part of APS's SKYctrl anti-drone system, integrating FIELDctrl radars, neutralization tools, and CyView C2 software, using machine learning to autonomously detect and engage hostile drones. APS interceptor drones operate in groups and are guided by radar and video tracking, offering versatile defense for military and civilian applications. The system is deployed in Ukraine and worldwide to protect critical infrastructure from Russian UAV threats. SKYctrl also includes radio frequency jammers and small-caliber cannons, and can integrate with machine guns and laser weapons. APS presented the interceptor drone at the MSPO defense trade show in Kielce, Poland, September 3-6, 2024.
