Frankenburg Technologies opened a mass-production missile factory in Riga to produce affordable air defence missiles aimed at countering drone threats.
Frankenburg Technologies inaugurated the world's first affordable air defence missile mass-production facility in Riga, Latvia, marking the initial phase in their plan to establish an annual production capacity of one million affordable guided air defence missiles. The Riga Weapon System & Missile Assembly Factory supports the production of the Mark I guided air defence missile system, designed to counter mass drone and aerial threats. Alongside the Riga site, the Ādaži final assembly site under construction, forms the first Latvian FieldFoundry production system, targeting a production capacity of 100 missiles per day by the end of 2026. Additional FieldFoundry sites are planned in Estonia, the United Kingdom, and Poland. The opening ceremony was attended by European Commissioner for Defence and Space, @KubiliusA.
Confidence: Medium
The event concerns the opening of a defensive military production facility with explicit intent to counter drone and aerial threats, which aligns strongly with defense preparation rather than aggression.
