Lithuania is expanding its air defense with a second NASAMS battery to be operational later this year, enhancing NATO's eastern front.
Lithuania is augmenting its air defense capabilities by deploying a second NASAMS battery. Key components have already been delivered and full operational capability is expected after the remaining systems arrive later in 2024. This reinforcement strengthens NATO's Eastern flank.
Confidence: High
The signal is a clear indication of Lithuania enhancing its defensive military capabilities with delivery and deployment of air defense systems, which aligns with defense preparation activities rather than hostile aggression.
