An investigative report led by Anna Gielewska, published on October 30, 2024, reveals detailed analysis from high-resolution satellite images showing that Russia has significantly reinforced its military presence along NATO's eastern flank, particularly near Poland and the Baltic countries. The Russian forces have deployed Iskander missile systems, expanded barracks and airfield facilities, and increased troop deployments in the Kaliningrad exclave and neighboring areas. The militarization includes deployment of surface-to-air missile systems and logistical infrastructure improvements, pointing to a deliberate strategic build-up designed to pressure NATO and secure Russia's position in the region. This development poses increased risks of military confrontation and signals an aggressive posture aimed at undermining NATO's security architecture. The report highlights direct implications for European defense and the ongoing geopolitical struggle in Eastern Europe.
